Yahoo adds seal to stop phishing sites
Yahoo is trying another security include that enables clients to make a hued seal to recognize a honest to goodness Yahoo login page from an impostor.
The "sign-in seal" is intended to shield clients from phishing sites, false sites that endeavor to trap individuals into surrendering their login and secret word data.
To make the seal, a Yahoo client should either transfer a picture or pick a shading and an expression of up to three words. The seal at that point shows up on any Yahoo login page showed on that PC, however won't show up on a phishing page taking on the appearance of Yahoo.
Since the seal is connected to a specific PC, it's not intended to be utilized on open frameworks, for example, those in libraries and web bistros.
Different sites, for example, the Bank of America, have embraced sign-in seals that are shown after a client signs in. Hurray said it would interface the seal to the PC rather, so a bona fide Yahoo page could beidentified without entering any individual data first.
The sign-in seal depends on treats, little content documents that a site puts on an individual PC. The seal doesn't work if treats are incapacitated.
Hurray said the security seal is being offered to a small amount of its clients at to start with, yet will be accessible to all clients in the coming weeks.
